205 delegates from 6 countries attended the III International Mine Equipment Maintenance Meeting – MANTEMIN 2008 , that was held on 5-7 November 2008 in the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Center in Santiago, Chile. Among the participating countries were Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Peru, United States and Chile.

During 3 days the participants had the opportunity to hear 32 presentations, focused on different aspects of maintenance practices, advanced techniques and technologies, strategies, mining resources management, safety and environment in maintenance. All presented articles were published in the proceedings.

The MANTEMIN 2008 Organizing Committee would like to thank the collaboration of the members of the Advisory and Technical Committees, who supported and promoted this event and helped to review the articles. We would also like to thank the Sponsor Companies and especially the Authors for their participation and for sharing their knowledge and experience in the innovations and developments in the mine equpment maintenance. All of them contributed to the Meeting's great success.
